She played Leila Ransom on Great Gildersleeve; Alice Darling on Fibber McGee and Molly and Mrs. Willy Lump-Lump on the Red Skelton Show.  She was born November 4, 1919 and was 64 when we chatted in her Beverly Hills, California apartment and talked about her extensive radio career. Shirley Mitchell died on November 11, 2013 at age 94.

Note: some difficult audio problems developed near the end of this tape, but we did not cut the original conversation.
