I LOVE A MYSTERY (1949) “The Thing That Cries in the Night” starring Russell Thorson as Jack Packard, Jim Boles as Doc Long and Tony Randall as Reggie York, with Mercedes McCambridge. When Jack, Doc and Reggie arrive in Hollywood to spend $25,000 in reward money from their last case, they are met at the airport by a mysterious young woman in a chauffeur-driven car. The woman asks them to accompany her to an old Hollywood mansion. The detectives receive no further explanation, but decide to go along for the ride.

NOTE: Chuck Schaden sets the scene by recapping the first three chapters of the serial and then presents, throughout the broadcast, the remaining episodes of the exciting Carlton E. Morse adventure.
